For your enjoyment, a picture of the RSV bug:
Ah yes, another entry about our germ-y family; you might want to skip this posting if you feel your immune system is weak. What can I say, germs love us! I honestly don't know why, since we go through economy-sized hand sanitizer like water. Anyway, here is week 7-11, life with three continued:
week 7 Happy to report, that besides that nagging cough, and some rainy days, kids are doing well.
week 8 Emma's 2 month check-up, her first immunizations, and the whole hip click business (see previous posts)
week 9 I take Emma to the hospital for hip ultrasound. Lily gets sick.
week 10 Emma sees specialist about her hip, we come home and Spencer is sick. I join the kids in feeling miserably sick-it takes me all week to feel better, although I suspect I have a sinus infection. The kids watch the Clifford movies from the library about a million times while I lay on the couch nursing Emma and try to recover. This week earns the gold star for being the hardest week in my mothering career. If you want my advice, I definitely don't recommend being sick while trying to care for 3 sick kids.
week 11 I take all three kids to the pediatrician for persistent coughs and temperature spikes. Conclusion: Lily-ear infections and sinusitis, Spencer-sinusitis (funny, he was the one complaining about ear pain), Emma-suspected RSV (AHHHHHH! repeat AHHHH! when I have to take her back 2 days later, for worsening symptoms) Now we add suspected ear infection to her list of woes. Also, FYI, it turns out cold symptoms worsen reflux, can we say hello projectile vomiting! Needless to say, we keep towels close by these days.
Now, once we all finally get well I am sure this mothering 3 kids will be a piece of cake!...right?

Aggh! I hate it when everyone is sick. We've had at least one person with fevers or coughing or sniffles for months with only a few days off. My kids are due for their well check-ups/shots, but I'm hesitent to take them when they have colds. Then again, it seems like when they are well they always pick something up at the doctor's office!
I feel your pain. Feel better. I've been taking Airborne, and it does seem to help!
Oh man! It sounds so miserable. It stinks to have sick kids. I really hate it. It really is the ABSOLUTE WORST to be sick when you still have mothering responsibilities. And when I'm nursing I tend not to take any medicine so it truly is just suffering through it. I hope you all get better soon.
By the way, don't be too disappointed when all are in good health and being the mother of three still isn't a piece of cake!! :)
Oh Jen! That is awful. I hope that you are all feeling better soon! It is so hard to feel up to mothering when you are sick yourself. And if it helps you feel better, then, sure, mothering three when they are all well is a piece of cake! The trick is getting all three well at the same time. Still hasn't happened over here in 15 months, but I am sure when it happens, it will be great! .
