Grandpa came to visit for a week and we had so much fun! Here are the highlights:
We went to the tide pools:

A few starfish
A sea slug-yuck.
Oops, lost a sandal
Lots of crabs (not pictured, they were too fast!)
Funny story-I picked up a tiny but beautiful shell, white with purple lining and was showing it to Spencer when a hermit crab popped out of it and scared me so bad I screamed. Who'd have thought there were crabs that small? It was probably half an inch long. Needless to say, I did not get to take that shell home as a souvenir.
We went to Santa Monica Pier (twice, it was actually closed one of the days)

Spencer having to ride the rides in the arcade because the pier amusement park was closed. He didn't care-He loved it.
Second time around:
In the boat with Daddy
Loving the bumper cars
Loving the cotton candy even more!
Lily with Daddy. She really enjoyed observing everything.
Spencer LOVED driving the cars and being in the boat. He did not like the airplanes though and screamed almost the entire time. Note: Spencer is driving me around-can you see me in the back of the jeep? I barely fit! Luckily he felt comfortable after the second trip to drive solo.
Bubbles!

Playing with the bubbles.
We went to Aidan's place, a cool wheelchair accessible playground. There were water toys, swings, slides, a few different play areas with trucks and climing blocks, and sand areas. It is a huge playground! We couldn't resist going back a second time last weekend.

Other fun things we did were:
Go out to dinner for my birthday. (May is a busy month-my b-day, our anniversary, and mother's day) Spencer gave me my own toothbrush (one of those fancy ones, always the future dentist!) an itunes gift card for some favorite songs and some extra sleeping in time (ahhh). Dad kept the kiddos occupied so I could get things done, gave me a GPS (I'm always getting lost)made lots of yummy meals, and cleaned house, even the carpet! I was thoroughly spoiled, Thanks guys! Thanks for the visit Grandpa! Spencer still asks if Grandpa can come places with us-and then answers his own question "no, grandpa went away in a big airplane in the sky"-too cute.

Looks like there's tons to do where you guys are. I bet Spencer loved every minute of all that fun stuff. Happy belated bday, by the way. When you said "my own toothbrush" does that mean you guys used to share?? :) I own an electric one, which I asked for as a birthday gift a couple of years ago. I'm a nerd, I know. But I LOVE it.
